"The desert is the only place on earth that teaches silence by example."

Most places fill themselves with sound. Wind through trees. Water over stone. Birds calling back and forth across the morning. But the desert offers something rarer and more profound — a silence so complete you can hear your own thoughts settle. Standing in that quiet, under a sky too wide to measure, you realize how little space your worries actually take up. I photograph the desert because it is the world at its most stripped back — and in that stripping back, it becomes the most honest place I have ever been.
